On a busy city sidewalk lined with brick buildings and parked cars, people moved along their day without paying much attention to what was happening nearby.
Traffic rolled past slowly.
Pedestrians walked between shops and cafés.
But beside a metal dog bowl near the sidewalk, something cruel was taking place.
A young man with short blond hair and a leather jacket knelt down beside a golden retriever.
At first glance, it looked like he might be feeding the dog.
